PrepLabel

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 22 October 2026

PrepLabel (“the extension”) is a Google Chrome extension that creates barcode and QR code labels from spreadsheet files you choose.

Data the extension processes

What stays on your computer

Your spreadsheet and product data are processed entirely in your browser. They are never uploaded, sent to a server, or shared with anyone, including the developer and Gumroad.

The extension stores, in Chrome’s local extension storage on your device only: the products and settings needed for your five most recent print jobs (older ones are deleted automatically), your layout settings, and, if you activated Pro, your license key, purchaser email and the dates of the last license check. Removing the extension deletes this data. It is not synced to your Google account.

What is not collected

No analytics, tracking, advertising identifiers, cookies, or browsing history. The extension does not read or change any website. Free users who never enter a license key make no network requests.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Gumroad, which processes payment and purchase details under its own privacy policy. The developer receives standard sale information from Gumroad, such as the buyer’s email address, as with any Gumroad sale.

Third-party code

The extension includes open-source libraries that run locally and make no network requests: SheetJS (reading spreadsheets), JsBarcode (Code 128 barcodes), qrcode-generator (QR codes) and the IBM Plex font.

Limitations

Anyone with access to your Chrome profile can access the extension’s local storage, as with other browser data. No software can be guaranteed free of defects.

Independence

PrepLabel is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Amazon. Amazon and FBA are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
